Introduction: Ants are social insects that belong to the Hymenoptera order and the Formicidae family. Ants have an important and effective function in ecological processes and environmental changes and show sensitivity to environmental changes. In recent years, this family of insects is used as a biological indicator in many countries. Materials & Methods: In order to investigate the fauna and biodiversity of ants in the western half of Kermanshah Province, sampling was done from 15 different stations during 1401-1402. The collected samples were identified in the laboratory using valid identification keys. Results: The results of this research led to the identification of 13 species from 6 genera of the Myrmicinae subfamily, which are: Aphanogaster obsidiana (Mayr, 1861) Crematogaster antaris (Forel, 1849), C. oasium (Santschi, 1911), C. sp. (Lund, 1831) Leptothorax sp. (Mayr, 1855) Messor caducus (Victor, 1839), M. capitatus (Latreille, 1798), M. dentatus (Santschi, 1927), M. denticulatus (Santschi, 1927) Monomorium pharaonic (Linnaeus, 1758) Pheidole megacephala (Fabricius, 1793), P. minuscula (Bernard, 1953), P. Pallidula (Nylander, 1849) The species Pheidole minuscula is reported for the first time from Iran. Conclusion: The findings of this research reveal that, the most of ants show high adaptability in different environmental conditions. Pheidole minuscula is reported for the first time from Iran.
