Introduction:Cupping involves creating suction on the skin, which can be done with or without bloodletting. Cupping with bloodletting is known as "wet cupping" or "wet cupping," while cupping without bloodletting is called "air cupping" or "dry cupping." Materials & Methods: In this study, 12 male lambs weighing 35 Kg were randomly divided into 2 groups (n=8). In the first experiment, the biochemical composition of cupping blood was compared with venous blood. The second experiment was conducted 7 days after cupping to investigate the effect of cupping on the biochemical composition of venous blood. Results: The difference between venous blood and cupping was significant in terms of all blood factors (P<0.05). The levels of urea, uric acid, creatinine, cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose, and mineral elements including iron, magnesium, zinc, and copper in the cupping blood were significantly higher than in venous blood, and seven days after cupping, the levels of these factors decreased compared to the control group. Glutamic oxaloacetate transferase (SGOT) and (SGPT) levels were significantly higher in cupping blood. However, alkaline phosphatase was lower in cupping blood than venous blood. The results showed that the level of C3 protein on the day after cupping was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the pre-test sample and compared to the control group. Conclusion:The results of the study showed that many of the excreted compounds in cupping blood were much higher than in venous blood. One week after cupping, some biochemical parameters in the venous blood sample of the cupping group were slightly reduced compared to the blood sample of the control group. The excretion of blood waste in the cupping blood may indicate the effect of cupping on the biochemical profile of the blood.
